What are veneers?
Veneers are thin shells of porcelain that are permanently bonded to a tooth to give your smile a more pleasing appearance. Porcelain is perfectly suited to the task, as the chemical makeup of it helps it look just like natural teeth. Veneers are often so natural-looking that people don’t notice what you’ve had done. They just know that you look better!

Though they are permanent and allow you to eat completely normally, they can also be adjusted and changed if you do not like how they turned out. For example, if the color is too white, you can come in and and we can find a color that better suits your smile.
Procedure
Preparation is key to having a natural-looking veneer. First, we take an impression of your teeth which helps us create the perfect shape and size of your new veneer. The veneer is designed to fit on top of your natural tooth and we look at everything to make sure it fits ideally.
We will prepare your tooth for the new veneer while it is being prepared, so you can understand what it will look like when you’re done. Preparing your tooth requires removal of a small portion of the enamel of your tooth. This enamel is filed down without pain, and your tooth remains healthy. This gives the veneer space to fit perfectly over the tooth, fitting seamlessly in with your other teeth.
After your tooth is filed down, a temporary veneer is placed with glue to help protect the tooth. This also helps you understand what your final results will be.
Once your permanent veneer is ready, we bring you back into the office. We then bond the veneer to your tooth with permanent glue so you can eat and drink normally while enjoying your beautiful new smile.
